We have just one more year here in Monterey, and need to get some stuff checked off our bucket lists so we decided to take the kids to Yosemite for husbands spring break. It was a little hectic with getting the new car the day before, but we made it work.
We packed the kids up and headed out for the park. We’re lucky being military that the National Park Service offers free national parks pass for active duty military/dependents. How amazing is that?! Such a great deal, and we love the national parks and have plans to hit a few this summer so it’ll be a great savings to us.
We arrived in Yosemite in the afternoon and opted to check into the Lodge at Yosemite Falls and grab some dinner so we could pack in the next day with lots of fun things. On our way walking to dinner we had a view of Yosemite Falls as well as deer running across our path. The kids loved it.
After dinner we headed back to the room to rest up for the next day. Then it happened…daughter started to throw up. She spent all night throwing up, and it wasn’t pretty. She seemed ok in the morning and wanted to get out, so we decided to walk up to the falls. She looked a little green on the hike and ended up throwing up again on the way back to the car. We decided to cut the trip short at that point and head back home just incase she started throwing up more.
I wish we could have stayed longer, but hopefully we can go back before we leave the area.
Here are some pictures from our brief trip!
